Cool Containers, manufacturers of the PharmaPort360 TM, is managed by a team of experienced, highly skilled pharmaceutical refrigeration and environmental control engineers. Acknowledging the challenges of traditional cold chain storage and transportation, Cool Containers has created an innovative, unique and versatile cargo container capable of high-density storage with stringent temperature control for high-value pharmaceuticals.
 
In 2010, Cool Containers received a $25,000 Ohio Chamber of Commerce's Excellence in Entrepreneurship award - which honors Ohio's innovators and entrepreneurs.
 
 
Executive Team
Scott Farrar - Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Scott Farrar is the founder and president of Farrar Scientific, Inc. where he originated the technology platform upon which the Cool Containers, LLC PharmaPort™ 360 shipping container operates. Today, as founder and Chief Technology Officer of Cool Containers, LLC. Farrar oversees all design, technical development, testing, controls and systems integration associated with the PharmaPort™ 360.
 
Farrar has spent his entire professional career in design and development of environmental control systems specializing in refrigeration circuits and controls for storage of high value biologicals, pharmaceuticals and life science products. He has been instrumental in development of industry standards for refrigeration component applications using Energy Balance™ computer-based modeling to optimize design by simulating physical properties and performance of refrigerants, compressors and allied components.
 
He is a graduate of Penn State University with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering where he concentrated on thermal sciences. Prior to establishing his own company, Farrar served in research, development and product optimization positions for Spectronics, Inc. and Forma Scientific, Inc. (now Thermo Fisher). He has developed numerous innovative designs for application of single-stage and cascade refrigeration systems used in ultra-low and cryogenic storage freezers used in the pharmaceutical industry, and in cold chain storage, data acquisition and documentation required for FDA 21CFR compliance for IQ/PQ/OQ criteria.
 
Lewis Rosenblum - CEO
Lewis Rosenblum is the Chairman and CEO of Cool Containers, LLC. He has proven leadership ability as president of several multi hundred million dollar divisions of Thermo Fisher Scientific, with his last role being president of China Operations. In this role he lived in Shanghai and managed their manufacturing, commercial and sourcing operations. Rosenblum has also served as the President and CEO of Forma Scientific and TECA Corporation. He received his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hartford.
 
Mark Hugh - Director of Engineering
Mark Hugh is the Director of Engineering for Cool Containers, LLC. He has a history with Farrar Scientific, as well as vast experience with refrigeration technology. As a Thermal Scientist for Farrar Scientific, Hugh developed the process requirements and specifications for the refrigerant and oil charging system used in the Thermo Fisher production of low temperature freezers. He has also held various mechanical engineering positions at Thermo Forma and Forma Scientific. He is a graduate of Ohio University where he received his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
 
Michael Rosenblum - Director of Marketing and Business Development
Michael Rosenblum is the Director of Marketing and Business Development for Cool Containers, LLC. Prior to joining the company, he served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Labnet International Inc., a division of Corning Life Sciences. During his 18 years in Product Management, Marketing Management, and Business Development roles, he has led product development teams and launched a large portfolio of new products. He also has expertise in establishing global contract manufacturers and distribution partners. Rosenblum is a graduate of Colby College where he earned his Bachelors degree in Biology.
